Matthew
Gallagher
Matthew Gallagher was appointed to the Authority
on April 1, 1984, and has served as Chairman since
1994. He is a graduate of Villanova University with
a bachelor of science degree in economics with post-graduate
work at Villanova and Temple Universities. Mr. Gallagher
retired from Atlantic Electric in 1994 where he
worked for 32 years, most recently as Manager of
Materials Management. Mr. Gallagher also served
in the United States Army from 1953 through 1962.
He has served on the Ventnor City Planning Board
and as a Councilman for the City of Ventnor. He
is a licensed Insurance Broker and Real Estate Agent
and a licensed NASDAQ Securities Broker. He is a
member of the National Association of Purchasing
Managers, and past president of St. James Holy Name
Society. Mr. Gallagher resides in Margate. |
Chris Seher
Chris Seher was appointed
to the Authority in May, 1992. Born and raised in
Ventnor, Mr. Seher attended Atlantic City High School
and graduated from Drexel University in Philadelphia
with a bachelor of science degree in physics. Mr.
Seher also holds a master's degree in aviation management
from Embry-Riddle University in Florida. He is a retired member of the Federal Aviation Administration’s Senior Executive Service, and is currently a Senior Principal with The Patuxent Partnership, supporting the Department of Homeland Security’s Science and Technology Directorate in the area of explosives detection systems research and development. Mr. Seher is Chairman of the Absecon Zoning Board and also served as Chairman
of the Atlantic City Expressway Authority where
he was a Commissioner from 1988 through 1992. He
is a registered referee and umpire with the New
Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association.
He resides in Absecon with his wife and four children. |
Michael
Epps
Michael Epps was appointed to the Authority in 1998.
Mr. Epps is a graduate of the University of Maryland,
where he received a bachelor of science degree in
journalism; and Howard University School of Law
in Washington, D.C., where he received his juris
doctor. Mr. Epps currently holds the position of
Counsel to the Atlantic City School Board. Prior
to accepting this position, Mr. Epps was an Associate
with the Atlantic City firm of Horn, Goldberg, Gorney,
Plackter, Weiss & Perskie where he specialized
in insurance defense litigation matters. Mr. Epps
is a member of both the New Jersey and Pennsylvania
State Bars. He resides in Galloway with his family. |
Marvin Embry Marvin Embry was appointed
to the Authority in 1996. Mr. Embry is a graduate
of the University of Kentucky where he received
a bachelor's degree in commerce and economics. An
Atlantic County resident for more than 36 years,
Mr. Embry served as councilman-at-large for the
City of Linwood from 1972 to 1978. He also served
as president of the Atlantic City and County Board
of Realtors in 1978, and has served as the district
vice-president of the New Jersey Association of
Realtors. Mr. Embry is a past director of the Title
Company of Jersey and member of numerous professional
organizations. In 1995 he was appointed by Governor
Whitman to the District One Ethics Committee, and
in 1998 to the Atlantic County Board of Taxation.
For over 25 years, Mr. Embry operated his own real
estate agency in Northfield. He continues to serve
others through his involvement with the Lion's Club
and was named Lion of the Year in 1987. Mr. Embry
and his wife reside in Linwood. |
Andrew
G. Berenato, Sr.
Andrew G. Berenato, Sr. was appointed to the Authority
board of directors on August, 2001 for a term to
expire on May 1, 2006. A lifelong resident of Hammonton,
Mr. Berenato graduated from Hammonton High School.
A retired building contractor, he is a former member
of a variety of organizations, including the National
Guard, Fire Company #1, the Hammonton Rescue Squad,
the Jaycee's, the Kiwanis, and the Atlantic County
Game Preserve. Mr. Berenato is a former director
of First Federal Savings & Loan, the foundation
of the Atlantic County Community College and served
as a Hammonton Town Council member for 8 years.
He is currently a member of the Hammonton Chamber
of Commerce, and Kessler Hospital C.M.R., and Greenmount
Cemetery Association. Mr. Berenato and his wife,
Dorothy, reside in Hammonton. |
Vincent
L. Leonetti
Vincent L. Leonetti was appointed to the Authority
in October, 2000. In 1983, he joined the ranks of
the former New Jersey Expressway Authority as Purchasing
Manager. He also served as Deputy Executive Director
and as Executive Director of the New Jersey Expressway
Authority before the Authority was incorporated
into the South Jersey Transportation Authority.
Mr Leonetti currently serves as Deputy Executive
Director/Expressway Director for the South Jersey
Transportation Authority. He is a graduate of LaSalle
College in Philadelphia, and Central Michigan University
where he received a masters degree in management
and supervision. He also completed the Certified
Public managers (CPM) course certified by the State
of New Jersey. Mr. Leonetti is a member of Sigma
Iota Epsilon's Honorary Management Fraternity, and
currently serves as a 2nd vice president for the
International, Bridge, Turnpike, Tunnel Association,
an international transportation organization. Among
his many civic activities, Mr. Leonetti is a former
member of the Atlantic City Board of Ethics and
a current member of the Ventnor City Planning Board. |
Michele
Verno
Michele Verno was appointed to the Authority in
May, 2000. She is a graduate of Brooklyn College
of the City University of New York where she received
a bachelor of arts degree in history; and St. John's
University School of Law in Jamaica, New York where
she received her juris doctor. Ms. Verno currently
holds the position of municipal prosecutor for the
City of Northfield and is a partner in the Linwood
firm of Ackerman, Alsofrom & Verno where she
focuses on litigation and family law. She is involved
in numerous community organizations, including the
Child Placement Review Board - chairperson; the
Atlantic County Trial Program - attorney coach,
Holy Spirit High School; the Northfield Republican
Club - vice president; Atlantic County Domestic
Violence Pro-Bono Program - coordinator; Community
Justice Institute - board member and mediator; UNICO
- Sargent at Arms; Christine Todd Whitman Excellence
in Public Service Program - Association - scholarship
coordinator; Alumnae Mentor Program Coordinator
- Holy Spirit High School; United Way - allocation
committee; Atlantic County Bar Association - trustee;
Cape-Atlantic Legal Services - board of directors. |
Dennis
Levinson
Dennis Levinson is currently serving his first term
as Atlantic County Executive. He was first elected
to the Atlantic County Board of Chosen Freeholders
in 1986 and served five terms before becoming County
Executive. He served as Vice Chairman of the Board
of Freeholders in 1988, 1991, and 1992, and was
elected Chairman of the Board in 1994, 1996, 1997,
and 1998. Prior to his election to the Board of
Freeholders he served as a Councilman in the City
of Northfield from 1982 to 1986. Mr. Levinson is
a member of many professional and community organizations.
He resides in Linwood with his wife and three children. |
