ELECTRICIANS


Electrician II - ($34K-$57K). Non-exempt, non-union position. Install, troubleshoot and repair all types of motor controllers. Test motors and install, troubleshoot and repair electronic variable speed drives, emergency generating equipment, transfer switches, programmable controllers and other related equipment. Calculate circuit voltage, amperage and wattage. Use and interpret all types of electrical test equipment. Develop and design control drawings, ladder logic diagrams and work drawings for modifications or upgrades of equipment. Make high voltage cable terminations using accepted method through trade school or technical school training. Install conduit, work from step ladders, high extension ladders and scaffolding both in overhead and in below ground tanks. Maintain inventory stock. Perform work in accordance with National Electrical Code. Requirements: 2 to 3 years trade or technical school; 5 years experience in electrical maintenance trade; ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.

Electrician I - ($29K-$50K). Non-exempt, non-union position. Maintain all lighting systems throughout treatment facility and pump stations. Install electrical conduits. Troubleshoot basic electrical problems. Read and interpret basic wiring diagrams and basic electrical schematics. Work from step ladders, high extension ladders, and scaffolding both in overhead and below ground areas. Test motors. Requirements: 2 years trade or technical school; 2 to 3 years experience in electrical trade; ability to read basic electrical drawings and schematics.



INSTRUMENTATION TECHNICIANS


Instrumentation II - ($34-$57K). Non-exempt, non-union position. Troubleshoot, calibrate and/or repair all instruments and electronic devices. Analyze instrument and control systems. Evaluate calibration equipment. Determine calculations required during instrument calibration. Analyze data for accuracy and program personal computer for entering data. Set-up and troubleshoot programmable controllers based on operational requirements and specifying necessary input and output devices and develop necessary ladder logic diagrams. Develop and design control drawings. Produce flow data reports. Troubleshoot basic electrical problems. Work from step ladders, high extension ladders and scaffolding both overhead and in below ground tanks. Maintain the inventory stock. Perform work in accordance with National Electrical Code. Requirements: 2 to 3 years trade or technical school; 5 years experience in electronics field; working knowledge of programmable logic controllers, computers, flow meters, charts and recorders, and communication equipment; ability to construct, read, and interpret electronic schematics and wiring diagrams.

Instrumentation I - ($29-$50K). Non-exempt, non-union position. Calibrate instruments. Read and interpret basic electronic schematics and ladder logic diagrams. Perform routine calculations. Repair basic electrical and electronic devices. Maintain parts and supply inventory. Assist Instrumentation Technician II with maintenance and repair. Work from step ladders, high extension ladders, and scaffolding both in overhead and below ground areas. Requirements: 2 years trade or technical school; 2 years experience in electronics field; ability to read basic electronic schematics and wiring diagrams.



SYSTEMS OPERATOR MECHANICS


Systems Operator Mechanic II - ($31K-$52K). Non-exempt, non-union position. Perform operational and maintenance tasks, as outlined on daily log sheets. Maintain station log book. Provide technical leadership and assistance to other System Helpers and Operator/Mechanics. Operate, maintain, and repair valves, pumps, diesel generators, odor control systems, disinfection systems and other associated equipment. Read and interpret mechanical drawings, and equipment assembly or disassembly drawings. Perform both routine and preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment. Monitor, evaluate, and log various meter and gauge readings to determine preventive or corrective maintenance requirements on pumping stations, interceptor lines, metering stations and associated equipment. Check and monitor force mains, gravity lines, manholes, and air relief stations. Duties may, from time to time, include driving and operating various vehicles including rolloff container truck for the purpose of pickup and deliveries, and the sewer cleaning jet truck. If necessary, assist Systems Operator/Mechanic with routine cleaning, housekeeping duties, and grounds maintenance. Requirements: 2 years trade or technical school; 3 to 5 years mechanical experience in the wastewater collection systems; commercial driver's license, CDL B, preferred; NJ state collection system license, preferred; working knowledge of the operations of pump stations and associated systems.

Systems Operator Mechanic I - ($29K-$50K). Non-exempt, non-union position. Perform operational and maintenance tasks, as outlined on daily log sheets. Maintain station log book. Provide assistance to Systems Operator Mechanic II, as required. Monitor, evaluate, and log meter and gauge readings to determine preventive or corrective maintenance requirements on pumping stations, interceptor lines, metering stations, and associated equipment. Move large parts of equipment to perform mechanical work. Operate and maintain valves, gates, pumps, diesel generators, odor control systems, disinfection systems, and other associated equipment. Perform both routine and preventative maintenance and repairs on above equipment. Perform routine cleaning and housekeeping duties at all pump stations including wet well and bar screen maintenance. Maintain all grounds, grass, and landscaping in a neat and well groomed manner; including mowing grass, removing trees and/or limbs with chainsaw and using equipment to clean up area. Duties may, from time to time, include driving and operating various vehicles including roll-off container truck for the purpose of pickup and deliveries, and the sewer cleaning jet truck. Requirements: 2-3 years mechanical experience in the wastewater collection systems or related field; commercial driver's license, CDL B, preferred; NJ state collection system license, preferred; working knowledge of the operations of pump stations and associated systems.



LAB TECHNICIANS


Lab Analyst - ($32K-$54K). Non-exempt, non-union position. Conduct physical, chemical, spectrophotometric, titre metric and instrumentation analyses of wastewater, drinking water and other environmental samples. Calibrates, operate, and troubleshoot basic and advanced laboratory equipment, including: pH meters, spectrophometers, conductivity bridges, gas/ion chromatography, atomic absorption, GC/mass spect. Perform bacteriological testing of drinking water and environmental samples. Clean and maintain laboratory instrumentation glassware and equipment. Evaluate and compile data results of analyses, and generation of QA/QC data based on Standard Methods and Laboratory Methods Manual. Generate various lab reports and other written material based on interpretation of data and analytical results. Requirements: Bachelor of Science in chemistry, biology, environmental science, or related field; 2 years of related chemistry lab work experience; computer skills; working knowledge of gas chromatography and atomic absorption systems, preferred.

Lab Assistant - ($24K-$43K). Non-exempt, non-union position. Collect grab and composite samples. Perform chemical and physical analyses of wastewater samples. Inform management of any abnormal sampling results, analysis, or observations. Identify and evaluate microorganisms associated with wastewater treatment via microscopic examination. Calibrate and operate laboratory equipment, including: pH meters, DO meters, balances, and spectrometers; enters, organizes, and documents collected and received samples using computer spreads. Organize the testing and analyses of tests, including: yearly polymer evaluation. Clean and maintain lab equipment, glassware, and working area. Requirements: 2 years of college courses in chemistry or biology; previous related chemistry lab work experience, preferred; computer skills.



MECHANICS


Mechanic II - ($34K-$57K). Non-exempt, non-union position. Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair all mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Layout plumbing system modifications and provides material lists. Carry out extensive alignment procedures on pumps, motors, shafts, centrifuges and other related equipment. Rebuild various pumps and install seals and bearings. Maintain plant heating and air conditioning equipment. Maintain plant pneumatic systems. Maintain and repair large sewage clarifier and aeration systems and equipment. Install new machine equipment and systems using blueprints and available technical information. Weld all metals and fabricate systems from sheet metal to heavy steel. Requirements: 2 years trade or technical school; 5 years mechanical experience; ability to read mechanical drawings and diagrams; working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and cutting; plumbing and fabrication skills; analytical and trouble shooting ability.

Mechanic I - ($29K-$50K). Non-exempt, non-union position. Install and /or repair plumbing systems using galvanized or PVC pipe or similar materials. Assist with rebuilding all plant mechanical equipment. Replace drive belts and mechanical seals as directed. Remove and replace bearings as directed. Renew pump shaft seal packing and adjusts packing glands. Requirements: 2 years trade or technical school; 2 years mechanical experience; working knowledge of the operations of pump stations and associated systems; working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and cutting; ability to read mechanical drawings and diagrams, preferred.

Auto/Truck Mechanic - ($32K-$54K). Non-exempt, non-union position. Maintain all rolling equipment and vehicles, including; but not limited to: vans, utility trucks, pickup trucks, dump trucks, roll-off container trucks, suburbans, 4-wheel drive vehicles, passenger cars, backhoe, tractor, forklift trucks, air compressors, and jet trucks. Perform scheduled manufacturer recommended maintenance on all vehicles, including; but not limited to: oil changes, lubrication, filters, hose and belt checks, cooling system checks, engine tune-up, and brake replacement. Troubleshoot and repair all engine systems and associated equipment. Perform vehicle maintenance, including: checking and changing tires when necessary and performing regularly scheduled washes. Maintain inventory of replacement stock. Clean and ensure the upkeep of the vehicle maintenance garage. Maintain work records for all vehicles and equipment. Dispense gasoline, diesel fuel, propane, and kerosene to all vehicles and equipment as needed. Ensure compliance for all vehicles with manufacturers recalls, technical service bulletins, and state inspections. Requirements: 2 years trade or technical school; 5 years auto/truck mechanical experience; working knowledge of all types of gasoline, propane, and diesel engines, fuel injection systems and hydraulic systems; ability to read vehicle electrical and mechanical diagrams; electronic troubleshooting, preferred; commercial driver's license (CDL), Class A endorsement.



TREATMENT PLANT OPERATORS


Water Pollution Control (WPC) Operator III - ($33K-$55K). Non-exempt, non-union position. Operate and provide limited maintenance on the following systems: multiple hearth incinerator and control systems, sludge fee systems, polymer systems, centrifuge systems, sludge and ash conveying systems, off gas and emission control systems, etc., in adherence to state regulations. Perform daily and weekly maintenance, hearth inspection, hearth cleaning and clinker removal duties. Keep a current log pertaining the conditions of the furnace interior. Troubleshoot any of the various related sub systems and make adjustments as required. Requirements: 2 years experience working in the wastewater field; working knowledge of the incinerator systems and associated sub systems; mechanical aptitude preferred; participate in various training courses to keep skills and job knowledge up to date; wastewater treatment plant operator's "S" license, preferred.

Water Pollution Control (WPC) Operator II - ($31K-$52K). Non-exempt, non-union position. Perform job functions at various plant locations (TAS, solid handling, outside wet end, effluent pump house, etc.). Keep abreast of all systems. Responsible for overseeing and monitoring of septage, leachate and liquid sludge deliveries, including: proper sampling and record keeping of deliveries. Keep abreast of wet operations of plant, including: maintaining proper operation through scheduled routine rounds both visual and recorded, monitoring of disinfection system, outside polymer systems, tank levels and keeping an up-to-date status on all pumps and mechanical equipment relevant to the outside activities. Perform basic laboratory analyses. Requirements: 1 year experience working in the wastewater field as a WPC I or related position; mechanical aptitude preferred; wastewater treatment plant operator's "S" license, preferred.

Water Pollution Control (WPC) Operator I - ($24K-$43K). Non-exempt, non-union position. Clean pumps, convey equipment, floors, and other equipment. Take samples of wastewater or sludge for laboratory analysis. Responsible for outside (customer) dewatered sludge and liquid wastewater deliveries for preparation and disposal. Perform weekly pump cleaning for debris removal. Perform truck driving duties, including: loading, off loading and placement of 20 to 35 cubic yard containers, hauling containers to landfill and various locations and other driving assignments as directed. Record various information and data including flow charts and totalizer readings and assist other operations or maintenance personnel as directed. Requirements: previous experience working in the wastewater field, preferred; mechanical aptitude preferred; wastewater treatment plant operator's "S" license, preferred.
