The Atlantic County Utilities Authority will celebrate its 20th Annual Earth Day Festival at the Haneman Environmental Park in Egg Harbor Township on Sunday, April 25th from 10 am until 4 pm.
Hundreds of vendors and lots of entertainment
Last year over 140 vendors, crafters and exhibitors displayed their information, crafts and products to approximately 4,000 visitors. There was non-stop entertainment throughout the day that included Cape May County Zoo shows, The Franklin Institute, 4H Petting Zoo, a live turtle presentation, magic shows, showings of Disney’s Wall*E, live music and much more. Tours of the wind farm and recycling center were a big hit and everyone enjoyed the hayride to the top of the landfill.
Special thanks to all sponsors
Most activities and attractions at the festival are free due to in part by the generous support of sponsors for the event. The major sponsors in 2009 were Atlantic City Electric and Harrah’s Entertainment. In addition to the top sponsors, there were over 40 businesses that contributed to the success of the event.
Earth Day Race
For runners of all ages and levels, two races are held each year - a one-mile fun run followed by a 5K run. Last year, all proceeds from the races benefitted the American Heart Association.
