A state-of-the-art landfill, recycling center, composting facility and collection fleet are located at the ACUA Environmental Park in Egg Harbor Township.
ACUA operates a 40 million gallon-per-day wastewater facility in Atlantic City, NJ, which is powered by renewable energy.

A big congrats is in store
for Egg Harbor City Community School who was recently
named the National Champion of the
Keep America Beautiful Recycle-Bowl!
The school competed against
1,266 schools spanning 45 states and the District of Columbia to win the
Together, students and teachers
recycled 50 pounds of materials per person during the competition. The school
will be awarded a recycled content plastic park bench, courtesy of Trex, and
$1,000 worth of recycling bins from Busch Systems.
The school began its
comprehensive recycling program only three years ago after entering the
Recycle-Bowl competition. It has since become a national leader as a result of
teamwork, dedication and cooperation among students, teachers and staff. (Read our blog on how

Atlantic County and the state participated in this year’s competition. 24 of
the Top 25 schools in New Jersey are located in Atlantic County:
