Atlantic County Utilities Authority (ACUA) has launched a
redesigned website and collection reminder tool in an effort to improve
customer service to residents and businesses of Atlantic County.
The new site is responsive, which means it will
automatically identify the type of device being used (mobile phone, tablet or
desktop computer) and adjust the display to make it easier to navigate and
read.
The reminder service, provided through ReCollect, offers residents a personalized collection
schedule based on their home address and the ability to sign up for collection
reminders via email, text message, phone call, or Twitter message.
ACUA can use the service to alert customers to holiday and
weather-related collection changes.
“Redesigning our website to improve usability for our
customers was an essential task,” said President Rick Dovey. “The new design and
collection reminder service will greatly enhance our ability to communicate
with customers online.”
In addition to the responsive design and reminder service,
new features include the “The Waste Word” blog, which will discuss upcoming
ACUA projects and environmental topics; a community calendar, which will
feature ACUA and other green community events; a “Waste Wizard,” which allows
residents to search for disposal information by their particular item; and
expanded menu options for both residents and businesses.
The new website is visible at www.acua.com
and the reminder service can be accessed at www.acua.com/towns.
