ACUA will host open house on November 13 to
celebrate America Recycles Day 2015
Egg Harbor Twp, NJ
– On Friday, November 13, the Atlantic County Utilities Authority (ACUA) will host its third annual Open House
event at the ACUA Recycling Center. ACUA will be joining thousands of local
organizers holding recycling events across the country to celebrate America
Recycles Day, the only nationally recognized day dedicated to promoting and
celebrating recycling in the United States.
The
Open House at ACUA will run from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., and will feature special
“behind the scenes” tours of the Recycling Center, which is operated by
ReCommunity Recycling. The Open House
will also include children’s activities, including a Compressed Natural Gas
collection truck for kids to check out, along with games, crafts, and photos
with Supercan, ACUA’s Recycling mascot. Atlantic County guests will also have a
chance to win a 95 gallon recycling cart at the Open House event.
“America
Recycles Day is a great opportunity for residents of all ages to come to the
ACUA Recycling Center to see learn more about how recycling works. Visiting the
Recycling Center offers people a chance to see the impact of their
participation in Atlantic County’s recycling program,” said Rick Dovey, ACUA
President. “When you visit the Recycling
Center and see this mountain of material that is being kept out of the landfill
and which will be made into new products, the importance of recycling becomes
very clear,” Dovey added. “ReCommunity, our recycling partner, will be offering
visitors a chance to get a closer look at how single stream recycling works with
special tours of the processing area.”
