ACUA will begin trash, recycling and bulky waste collection in Vineland on Wednesday, January 2, 2019.
Watch our grand entrance into Vineland, which included a caravan of 11 CNG vehicles down Landis Avenue, an iconic location to introduce ourselves to residents.
In case you have any questions about our service, we compiled the information below to help you get to know us better.
What is ACUA?
ACUA stands for Atlantic County Utilities Authority. We are responsible for enhancing the quality of life through the protection of waters and lands from pollution by providing responsible waste management services. We operate a landfill, recycling center, composting site and collections fleet in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. We currently provide 21 towns in both Atlantic and Cape May Counties with recycling, trash or yard waste collections. We also operate a Wastewater Treatment Facility in Atlantic City, NJ, that is powered by wind and solar energy.
What is the ACUA’s role in Vineland?
ACUA will provide residents of Vineland with trash, recycling and bulky waste collection services. ACUA’s fleet of compressed natural gas (CNG) collection trucks will be stationed at the Cumberland County Improvement Authority (CCIA). All materials picked up from residents will be brought to CCIA for disposal or recycling.
Will my trash and recycling schedule change?
No, your trash and recycling schedule will not change in the new year. Regular trash will be picked up twice-a-week and recyclables once-a-week. If you want to find out your schedule, click here and enter your address.
How do I use the trash and recycling carts?
The City of Vineland distributed 96-gallon trash and recycling carts to every resident in December. Each cart comes with two wheels for easy maneuvering and a lid to prevent materials from falling out. Residents must use the carts for trash and recycling collection moving forward. Place your cart on the curb by 6 a.m. on your collection day for collection. Please make sure the cart is accessible to the crew.
An ACUA crew member will wheel the carts to our trucks to be emptied.
If you have more questions regarding carts, visit www.vinelandcity.org or call Vineland’s Public Works Department at (856) 794-4089.
Are there any changes to what I can recycle?
CCIA will still handle the materials collected from your home. Please click here to refer to their guidelines for recycling.
What if I have a service issue?
ACUA staff will be available by phone, live chat and social media to answer questions and handle service issues. You may call us at (609) 272-6950 or visit our website. Follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for updates on our services.
The expansion of collection services into Vineland is an exciting adventure for ACUA! We look forward to serving a new community and performing responsible collection services that will keep your City and environment clean.
