The Atlantic County Utilities Authority (ACUA) will begin weekly, curbside trash collection in your community on Tuesday, September 1, 2020. Trash will be collected Monday through Thursday. Recycling collection will now be held biweekly on the same day as
your trash collection.
FAQS:
How do I find my trash collection day?
ACUA will collect trash weekly from four separate zones: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. To find your collection zone/day visit use the search tool below. Residents can also sign up for our free reminder system that sends weekly collection reminders by phone call, text message or email.
When will my
recycling be collected?
Recycling will now be collected biweekly on the same day as your trash collection. For example, if you are located in the Monday trash zone, your recycling collection will now be every other Monday. The first recycling collection week using the
new zones is September 7, 2020.
What type of
trash can may I use?
Items must be placed in any trash bin meant for outdoor collection (no barrels or drums of any size) before 7 a.m. on collection day. Bins may not weigh more than 50 lbs. (our carts do not have the same weight limit since they are emptied using a hydraulic tipper). If you are interested in purchasing an ACUA 96-gallon trash cart ($75 each) that comes with a lid, please call 609.272.6950 or place an order through our online store.
What is
included in my trash pickup?
ACUA will collect all household trash from your curb that’s contained in a curbside trash bin. ACUA will also collect up to two bulky items per trash day. This includes items such as furniture, mattresses, vacuums, etc. No hazardous waste, electronics, metals or construction and demolition debris.
Will the
Mullica Township Transfer Station remain open?
The Mullica Township Transfer Station will only open on the Third Saturday of each month from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for disposal of the following: oil, metals, electronics and brush. PROOF OF RESIDENCY WILL BE REQUIRED. The transfer station will no longer accept
household trash, bulk items, tires, batteries, or items with freon.
