The Atlantic County Utilities Authority (ACUA) was presented with the Environmental Award from the Southern New Jersey Development Council (SNJDC) at the organization’s 65
th Annual Awards Luncheon on Friday, October 17.
The award recognized the Authority for its leadership in sustainability and environmental innovation, including its microplastic removal pilot project, the integration of a renewable battery energy storage system, and most recently, its renewable natural gas project with partners South Jersey Gas and OPAL Fuels.

During his acceptance remarks, ACUA President Matthew DeNafo noted the Authority’s achievements have been made possible through its continued commitment to innovation and willingness to explore alternative solutions.
ACUA was one of five organizations honored at this year’s ceremony.
