ACUA Recognizes Winners of Recycling Poster Contest

Atlantic County High School students recently showcased their artistic talent by participating in the Atlantic County Utilities Authority (ACUA) recycling themed poster contest.

Winners from Hammonton High School 

The contest invited local high school students to submit hand-drawn or digitally designed posters to highlight proper recycling guidelines, waste reduction ideas, and more.

“ACUA encourages future generations to become active stewards of the environment,” said ACUA Communications Manager Amy Menzel. “This contest provided an opportunity for our youth to creatively express their care for the environment.”

Third Place Winner Lesli Redriguez - Pleasantville High School

The following students were selected from an impressive number of submissions as the contest winners and awarded prizes from the Authority:
 
  • First Place - Recycle Correct by Isla Dykstra - Hammonton High School
  • Second Place - Zero Waste by Jocelynn Johannsen - Hammonton High School
  • Third Place - Reusing is the Solution to Pollution by Lesli Rodriguez - Pleasantville High School
  • Honorable Mention - No Contamination by Sophia Terruso - Hammonton High School
  • Honorable Mention - We Recycle #s 1,2 & 5 by Emage Messiah - Hammonton High School
ACUA will use the winning posters to further recycling and environmental education in the community.
