Cleaner. Cheaper. Better.

In October 2010, we opened the first compressed natural gas station in South Jersey built and operated by Clean Energy Fuels. As a member of the NJ Clean Cities Coalition, we were awarded $2 million in funding from the U.S. Department of Energy to offset the cost of constructing the fueling station and purchasing new CNG vehicles.

Currently, more than 50% of our entire fleet and 97% of our collection vehicles run on CNG. 

Environmental and Financial Impact

Since making the switch to CNG, ACUA and its ratepayers have received more than $4.9 million in benefits from fuel cost savings, sales revenues and tax credits. In addition, more than 8,324 metric tons of CO2e has been prevented from entering the atmosphere.

Switch Your Fleet to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)

The Atlantic City Jitney Association, South Jersey Gas, and Earth Tech are a just a few of the local companies that have made the switch to Compressed Natural Gas. Could you be next?

CNG vehicles have been introduced in a wide variety of commercial applications, from light-duty trucks and sedans, to medium-duty trucks, to heavy-duty vehicles like transit buses, street sweepers and collection vehicles.
