ACUA is happy to be partnering with Rowan University on their USEPA funded WaterWorks program. The STEM related project is geared towards exposing high school students to the water and wastewater industry. The project is giving high school students the opportunity to hold internships at organizations, including ACUA. The program is geared towards minority and underserved populations. The goal is to foster interest to ensure communities have sustainable water and wastewater systems in the future.
Students will learn about the industry and why the work we do is critical to the community and to the environment. They will also learn about the many careers paths available in the industry including wastewater operations, human resources, information technology, finance, communcation, engineering and trades.
The program will give four high school students the opportunity to intern at ACUA. The internships will take place over the summer and last 5 to 6 weeks. The program will run over the next three years.
